A leading multi-national ridesharing company was facing various regulatory challenges in India. The company was expanding rapidly in India but there were no regulations for ridesharing (ride-hailing) business in India. Further, the company was interested to understand the existing regulatory framework in the country.
Project Overview
Valoriser Consultants was responsible for the preparation of a market intelligence report on existing radio taxi laws in India. Further, it supports the client for advocacy of legal framework for ridesharing services in India.
Key Role
- Monitor policy developments with the potential to impact the client’s goal to be regulated in India
- Support direct engagement with the policymakers and regulators in the government agencies to create a platform for aggregator regulation in India
- Support engagement with academics and local startup community (third-party stakeholders) in India
- Review strategic action plan to guide government and third-party engagement, and update as reasonably needed
- Support coordination between Uber policy, operations, communications, and legal teams, as reasonably needed
- Remain available for coordination and strategy calls with the team, as reasonably needed
- Execute Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with other government departments to promote electric mobility and drivers training projects in India
